I have a DSL connection 50kbs d/l and 35kbs u/l, but for some reason when i go onto IRC and find a nice XDCC i want to download from, i start downloading at 57kbs and then after about 5 minutes of downloading at this speed, the speed drops to about 2.5kbs and im kicked off the XDCC for going too slow, yet when i reconnect to the server, i get a further 57kbs for another 5 minutes then the same again... Can anyone PLEASE tell me why this happens and how i can fix it? Its driving me mad. :(

probably your service provider, dsl isn't that great and doesn't guarantee a good connection if you live far away from ISP, otherwise I'd say bad ping the user you're downloading from is too far away from you, not all dsl are bad, i usually get about 60kb from people who live in Canada who have asdsl
