Hi folks,

I've just bought myself a new PC and i now want to connect my 2 PC up to a network and also share my blueyonder broadband internet connection over the 2 PC's.

I've NEVER come across networking before and haven't got a clue what to do. Both PC's have XP on them.

All i can tell you is that both of the new network cards in both PC's have a red cross through them and they are disconnected.

Any websites that can help me would be great

Thanks

Jim

If you are using a single cable to connect the 2 computers (ie, without a hub) then you will need a crossover cable, the little red cross you see means you have a network card, and its working, just finds no external connection.

Sorry to sound stupid, but once i plug the cross over cable in this should recognise the network card? At the moment i have a telephone adapter plugged onto the one end of the cross over cable.

thanks

Jim

I have exaclty what you want. Well almost. I have 4 computers on mine all sharing my broadban connection. I found this site really helpful, try it.
