I hear a lot of ppl on these boards wanting this and that file and will trade

so why not run a file sharing app and all share on there i know i would

and i know of a great app too this is how it works


1.. someone runs a server i am willing...


2.. others run a client that connects to that server (this is the gateway that links all the clients together)

and we all share files through the clients but the beauty is lets say i have sunfly 1 to 100 from gov

and others have the same files it hashes them so if someone wanted lets say sf10 and five ppl have that disc it will dl from all 5 ppl to him and so on so you would not need a high bandwidth to host the files as it puts all the bandwidth together so to speak an we all can take and give at the same time.

if anyone wants more details about the above suggestion please let me know and ill go into it a little further

i already do this and it works great perfect for ppl with fast dl they dont have to worry about getting from a slow source as it pools all the bandwidth together from all the ppl who are sharing it dl different chunks of the file from all the ppl then rebuilds it at your end so you dont get the same chunk from anyone person...

i know you have files bro i saw on another post, i also aint really that bothered if ppl dont have any files as long as when they do get some they keep them shared that way we all come out on top cos at some point they will have files we will be dl from them, cos as soon as they dl a file that we want from some other user it will be one more source with that file if we do it the way i am thinking about.

i totally understand your concern here, i sent you an email to explain a little hope it helps..

this program is safe i have used it over 2 yrs and i never have had a problem with hackers...


they aint got a way of getting into your other files and the only one that sees your ip is the guy running the server...

btw it is leecher free you have no way of just dl files and not ul it even shares files that you are dl so if you have so many chunks of a file then them chunks are ready for other to dl from you, i know it sound complicated but it works great,

The source code is protected and cant be given out, the reason why is so no-one can change it if it was open source then i wouldnt touch it cos anyone could mess with it and add backdoors

i cant send you the source code cos the only person who as that is meta machines they own all the rights to the program ther aint no spyware/ the only door it as is the one you open to connect like you would ftp

i will run the service bro i am only trying to get a good way for the community to share i dont believe we all look at every peace of source to every peace of software there is out there..

its only like an ftp but on a larger scale, its like this what if i logged onto your ftp you could hack me you already would have my IP logged and you know my port is open usually port 21...

If you have security concerns the best server/software would be Mac and Hotline. Hotlines the bomb for file sharing over the net :-) Count me in for whatever you have planned. I have over 100 CD's to share ! Anybody wanting to do old fashioned CD through the mail swapping let me know !

erm no its not seeing as ppl wont be having the IP to connect to the private server unless they have stuff to share

there is a difference here too, i can get the best out of donkey seeing as ive been using since it first came out, im also a moderator on the main donkey forum and sort any problems out ppl have, i am also the one who tests the new tools that come out from 3rd parties and let admin know if they should be banned or not...


and your forgetting the point i aint asking ppl to use this software to connect to the general population i will have the server running so not getting connected aint an issue

if you are having problems with your donkey then i would suggest you post on the main donkey forum and i will be happy t owork with you...

I have norton installed and i've opened all the suggested slots, tried adding proxy too.....

I know many people have asked this already on the donkey forum, i've searched, but i tried everything and still no luck.

I tried the donkey test at the website and it passed on port 80 but when i set up the donky to port 80 it still wont connect (and aren't most of the servers using other ports)?

I feel it's either norton or my proxy,
if you can please give us a hand, I posted a detailed summary of my problems in the security forum, I would really appreciate your help, this thing's driving me nuts, I'd get rid of norton but then maybe the proxy would still mess me up..............?

why dont u all just go to a "novernet" server, using a mirc script, and join #karaoke+mp3z where weve been sharing karaoke files for years !!
here u will get the very latest "first" and all error free :-):tup:

for example..yesterday I downloaded EZH 17 :-))

i just been on novernet its like a mad house, no clear instructions what or any thing i think i must be stupid

when u get on the channel just type in--->> !sharepack this will download a file with all instructions, if u have further problems or worries shout for an @OP...theres always 1 or more on line!...hope this helps

I asked for some help in the channel the other day, 6 people PM'ed me instantly and about 7 people replied in the channel. All the ops and users alike where willing to help and I got my problem sorted straight away.
