Hey guys! Just got my 48125w today and installed it on my new 533/512/333 ddr system/xp/dell box/two 80gb wdhds.
48x Liteon cdrom as slave and 48125w as master.
It burns very slow on the fly with all media and 80mb cache+800 mb disk space reserved =8 min for a 667mb audio cd.
HD to burner is 2.58 mins for an audio cd. I will check the DMA tonight. But I'm sure it is set right from the factory.
The 48x cdrom also transfers very slow to the HD.=8 mins:tdown:  So it seems the cdrom or setup problem
48125w transfers ok to HD.
It's Fri=

Depends on what you're burning.
And do check the DMA

Bad news, The liteon 48 cdrom has digital audio enabled. I tried to flash it, but it would not recognise the drive as the correct model=486s. So I guess I have a real slow cdrom.

Ok, I checked the digital audio and it was on for both the 48125w and the 486s. I fixed the dma for the 486s cdrom and it went up to 14.8x """""wow""""?
WOW! THE WIND WAS BLOWING SO FAST AT 14.8X THAT I PULLED OVER
Also, I had already done an audio cd with terrible results.
I agree that something is very wrong. Help!!!!!
Did the test cd create for the second test!
ok!!! p-cav with 58% cpu usage at 8x. Something is not right.
Any other suggestions? This is a new dell box//533/2.4-533/333-ddr-512///80gb hd.
The 48125w was limited to 40x during its test????? Put in a 48x fugi and it went to 48.57x. So I guess all is well with the burner, 49.06x with the new test cd rated at 48x, cpu usage is at 17% at 8x and a warning instead of a dae quality number//
but the 486s still has a big problem
Ps/I tried to flash the cdrom with the correct firmware from the liteon site and it said it was the wrong firmware for my cdrom?????

I think there is something to clear the rom out and so you can reflash, I don't know if that's tru, but i heard it from someone.
It'll dump the current firmware, and you can reflash it.
Do look up for it.

Everyone check your bios settings on these new machines. My slaves were set to off. I went in and put everything to auto and all is well in burnville. My 486s is not perfect, but faster than a speeding turtle as we speak.
