Hi, heres my question(s). I upgraded my xbox a week ago to a 60gb HD. Everythings great, but now ide like a little more room. So, I want to upgrade to upgraded HD =)

I have no problem installing the new HD into the xbox, but my problems lies in the old 60gb HD. It has some games Ide like to keep aswell as some media and game saves. I want to install the 60gb into my computer. Would I have to erase everything before I install the 60 into my computer, or can I install it like normal and keep everything so I can just transfer the stuff over to my new xbox HD?

thanks guys

What you want to do (if you have the space on your PC) is create a mirror image of the XBOX drive via ftp to the computer, prep the new drive and you will want to unlock the 60 gig drive, and format it to have it available for further use. This is the safest method.

Thanks Kierre.
So, with the 60gb hd still in the xbox, I first transfer the stuff i want to keep back to my computer and copy my C drive to my computer. Then, to put this 60gb hd in my computer I must unlock it, then install it as i normally would? how do I unlock it?

Thanks

Should I just use this guide to unlock and format the old 60gb hd? http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/pc-hdd.php

Those guys are a great source of XBOX info, and helped me go from the original XBOX 10gb to 20gb and finally to 120gb and I have'nt looked back. I didn't want to post the link because I wasn't sure about the rules, and I was just going to send it to you privately. Those guys you can trust and they were the first to provide to the XBOX community any instructions on how to use a hard drive again after it has been used in the XBOX.
