You should not have to ask this question ... the fact you are asking means you should not be attempting the job yourself ....

right m8 i can solder and do must things when it comes to electrical i just have never removed a chip off a board iam confident at having a go at most things is it because you sell and install the chips that your saying that all is i need is the guide and i will follow that

it's because I dont want you to screw up your player but nevermind .. here goes ....

Assuming you have the oki type chip fitted , the easiest way to remove this is to cut each leg of the chip on the top of the leg closest to the chip .... use very small wire cutters NOT A KNIFE or you may end up cutting tracks on the board underneath ....

Once the black part of the chip is removed and you are just left with the legs you can go around with a tinned sodlering iron removing each leg in turn ....

Then you are left with messy solder on the pads ...clean this off with desolder braid ....

Now you have a board with no chip fitted and clean pads ready to fit the chip .... solder the chip on very carefully ....

Job done .....

Of course if you have bought the chip from a crap supplier and have received a faulty chip then your player will never work again as you will not be able to replace the original chip , however if you have bought the firmware chip from me then it WILL work.

I guess you are gonna screw up your player as you obviously dont have the experience to do this .... dont come back to me when you do .... get some one with experience to do the job in the first place .. saving a few quid could cost you a lot more !!!!
