That's silly of course it does, or at least it's claimed, but has anyone actually installed one? Does the PS2 readily recognize a hard disk? Does it negate the need for a Memory card? What size, capacity, brand? Any negatives? Can I push a game to a large capacity HD and then play it from there? Anyone, before I experiment on one of mine? Thanks in advance

good question. Try plugging a USB drive into the port?
Good news, after a long hard decision as to my next system, Parappa the Rapper2 swayed me to PS2, so next month, I'm down!

Well, that's fine, but I was thinking about something internal. Anyone have any idea of what drive if any can be installed internally? Did Sony ever release this type of info?

The internal hd has been released in Japan but will only work for Japanese models. Once the hdd is released in the US, some one will find a way to use a standard hdd (it's probably and ide unit, you might be able to now if you are willing to take a risk) As far as the usb port, I don't think anything will work except a zip drive with Interact's MegaMemory software or Gameshark2 v2
