Ive got got a Infra red port on my computer and its works fine under win 98. But ive got bit of software that doesnt work with with virtual com ports, it needs a direct com port. As IRDA works through virtual com ports is there any way of fooling the computer into thinking that a virtual port is a direct port as ive got com 2 free. (the IR port is a done through a pci usb port)

Help !!!!! as i dont want to pay another 40 quid for a Serial IR port
