CDSOFTWAREUK Oct 21, 2002, 01:49 PM I downloaded the latest update from Nero and expected some benefits. All i have found is that Nero Express is useful if u have never burnt a cd before. But the downside burning mp3s to audio is so much more difficult and SLOWER!!! It makes u create an image rather than let u burn from the CDs. Such an hassle and what makes it worse it doesn't even burn after that!
Am i doing it all wrong or something? As it was so much easier in the previous version. Is there anyway that u can revert back to the previous version?
u-571 Oct 21, 2002, 07:12 PM thanks for that m8,Ill just stick with what Ive got
MrMP Oct 21, 2002, 09:26 PM If you unistall it, then reinstall (latest version) you should get back to old interface.
celtic_druid Oct 22, 2002, 01:51 AM The serial also determines what version of Nero you get. If you don't have a legitimate full version serial then that could be your problem.
bald eagle Oct 22, 2002, 11:56 AM agree completely .latest nero is not worth it:( if ur happy stick with what u allready got.
 ian
CDSOFTWAREUK Oct 22, 2002, 12:42 PM My version is fully legit. I have downloaded updates which have been alright in the past but the latest one is dreadfull. Does anyone know of a site that i can download an earlier (still fairly recent) version of Nero?
celtic_druid Oct 22, 2002, 01:25 PM I have just about every version since 4 point something, if you get desperate and there is a particular version you want, I could probably upload it somewhere.
jjhall213 Oct 22, 2002, 02:27 PM Ive had the same prob, just reinstalled the old version - i always keep all of my installation files.
MrMP Oct 22, 2002, 09:50 PM The latest version is exactly the same - as i said before if you get the express version, just uninstall completely and reinstall and you will get the normal interface, no need to go back to an old version.
lhaney Oct 23, 2002, 01:59 PM Hmm....I never liked nero's mp3 burning, it takes too long for nero to check the file while adding it to the playlist. I use musicmatch to burn mp3's, it is a lot faster. Other than that, the latest version of nero works fine for me in classic mode.
CDSOFTWAREUK Oct 24, 2002, 09:58 AM Would be grateful if someone could provide me with the link so that i can download the previous version.
Thanks

Ant212 Oct 26, 2002, 07:31 PM Ihaney, Be careful of the files you burn with MMJB, it doesn't check them AT ALL. I took this up with MusicMatch, they said they would consider incorperating it into a later version.
REDBULL Oct 31, 2002, 04:23 AM You couldnt of dwn loaded the full version ? as mine has a tab so u can switch between interfaces ie express or classic and the classic is as its been sine . ? so dont no what ure doing wrong ? after ive finisned using prassi ill start up nero and see where the tab is etc and see if u got same version
CDSOFTWAREUK Oct 31, 2002, 09:49 AM I've got that tab aswell on the version update i downloaded
timoros Nov 02, 2002, 12:46 AM i'm downloading it now, I'll try it and I will post results...
I'm not sure if I'll have that tab though, do you only get it if you get the full version...?
king nero Nov 06, 2002, 01:26 PM nero is known for its weird habits - at some point there was this topic here as well about two different versions of a nero update with the same version number.
Maybe you got the wrong one - like me, i can't change to the "normal" interface. All i got as well is the express, and it first seemed a wizard to me
timoros Nov 06, 2002, 07:42 PM I got the 2 interfaces.. And it works like a beauty.. try to download it from the beginning and before installing it just remove the old version.. thats what I did and worked
burnologist Nov 08, 2002, 02:10 PM When burning mp3s with nero, it checks them to let you know if its a good mp3. This prevents bad quaility cd's. When you convert a mp3 file to cda it takes more processor power and slower burning speeds. I myself do not use the express, prefer the good ole classic mode
Ant212 Nov 10, 2002, 07:13 PM Ihaney, Juke Box may be faster loading, but it doesn't check the files, so if you have a bad track, it won't pick it up.
I've suggested to the MMJB support team, that this would be a great improvement to the software.
king nero Nov 12, 2002, 01:52 PM How to change from Express ---> Normal/Classic mode?
Help file doesn't work for me, dunno how comes
Van Nugent Nov 12, 2002, 02:24 PM If you have the full-version S/N, changing b/w full and express versions is just a mouse click away.
However, if you have OEM S/N, you'll need to purchase the full version key.
king nero Nov 13, 2002, 07:12 AM I've got ordered serials, so that shouldn't be the problem
But first, what's the diff between full and OEM ?
Maybe that's what is missing for me
and btw, where should I aim on when mouse clicking ?
mason61 Nov 18, 2002, 04:09 PM If someone could supply me with a foll copy of Nero 5.0.0.3 I would be happy to pay for it.
Van Nugent Nov 18, 2002, 04:21 PM king nero, the OEM version is bundled with burners and doesn't have all features that a full version offers. All versions are actually the same, it's just the S/N that determines what features and whether a Nero Express version are/is installed.
If you have the full version S/N, installing Nero will also give you Nero Express in the Nero Program group. Just go to Start menu and select it.
