First thing to do is to check your ASPI layer status. You can do that with ASPIchk.

If not properly installed(version 4.60 - 1021) you can update it with ForceASPI. Get both these applications at Cyrus Troy's Website (http://www.cyrus.troy.btinternet.co.uk/downloads.htm). Be sure to read carefully the instructions in the index.html file.

Another good thing to do is to get the latest updates for EZCD and CDRWin, as usually this solves problem like the one you have now.

sounds like my problem, on win2k. initially, CDRW worked as a CD player ok
then I installed ECDW and every drive disappeared. Monkeyd around, deinstalled, installed as administrator, checked aspi layer, upgraded etc.
Now, I can see the drive and win2k says it's ok, but I can put any CD in and it won't read them.....
dunno what to do next....
