Is there any way to get around encodeing the movie vob files if the rip is smaller than the blank dvd
Say like if the movie i rip is 4.1 gig is there a way to make the dvd with out having to reencode the video?
And last thing is if im using dvd to avi to make a project file what audio settings would work best ?

If the movie is small enough to fit, then of course you don't need to re-encode. you can go straight to authoring or use IFOEdit to strip out the extra's, etc. leaving just the movie.
If you are planning on re-encoding video to fit to a DVDR then you will want to set DVD2AVI to demux the AC3 if you don't already have it. If you do then set it to do nothing with the audio.

JOE,
I asked a similar question a while ago but didn't get an answer.
If the movie VOB files are small enough to fit on a DVD-R then why can't I just burn them. I'm sure this could be done with a little help from IfoEdit but I don't know how.
I ripped the movie VOBs and loaded them into IfoEdit to create new IFOs but it wouldn't work in my DVD player.
Come on guys someone tell us how to do it.

When you burned it did you make sure you had an empty AUDIO_TS folder and a VIDEO_TS folder with the .vobs etc in?
just a thought...
