I am using the latest version of nero and i'm trying to do a 1:1 copy of a dvd silver onto dvd-r. I'm using a LG dvd rom drive to read the disc and a pioneer 104 to write, both of these drives are qiute new.
The problem is that it reads the dvd upto about 50% then stops reading it. Nero doesn't come up with an error it just carrys on to 100% and then burns. As it has read only 50% I only get half a film.
What am I doing wrong? Are there any settings that I can adjust?

Thanks

Why dont u use SmartRipper to rip the film and then create a VIDEO_TS folder and then use Nero to copy the film. This removes any protection on the dvd and it works great. I have done about 50 dvd's like this and non have failed to work ;)

Is the silver a dvd9? You can't copy a dvd9 (dual layered disc) to a dvdr (dvd5 single layered disc).
How big (in gb's) is the dvd silver?

The dvd is 4.29 gb. It's is a single layer dvd with no copywrite protection and I can do a 1:1 copy of it if I use my writer to read the disc but I don't want to use my writer to read as my dvd rom is faster.

i had this problem with nero....just tried the same thing with prassi and worked fine........also if it's unencrypted no need to use smartripper to get a VIDEO_TS folder........just drag the VIDEO_TS folder from the disk onto your hard drive then use the dvd video option in nero to create the dvd.
