I have 2 dvdrs for a tv series. disk 2 works no problem, but disk 1 starts loading, then for about half a second the word search... comes on the screen, then disappears, then the word load just flashes in the display, and doesn't load the disk. it also stops the remote from responding, and i have to turn the dvd player off from the button on the front. i have an alba dvd108. anyone know how i can get it to load?

Sounds like bad media (gosh I`m on a roll with that phrase today :) )
Can you try it on a pc dvd drive by any chance? See if you can get it to play that way or failing that trying another standalone dvd player but I`m sure its a bad burn/bad media.

thanks. i was hoping it wasn't that, but thought it might be. i can't try it on a dvd drive, but i'll keep it and try it on a mates dvd player.
