I just bought a brand new Pioneer A06 specifically to read DVD-R's, but it won't read any of my discs. However I can read them in the Pioneer DVD writer.

Any suggestions?

ao6 is not what it is called, an a06 will be the next dvd writer from pioneer (if they use the same naming) it has yet to be invented

try a firmware upgrade for your a106 it sometimes helps, region free options are available too

DVD-106, DVD-106S, DVD-106SZ, DVD-A06S (RPC-2)

Sold mostly in europe and is the slot version drive. You can get the latest firmware for this drive region free and much improves the read on dvd-r media
