What no lights or nothing? If theres no lights no fan spin up it sounds like a power supply problem to me.

Take off the back cover and make sure all leads etc are secure but as Diablo says, if you're drive / fan aren't spinning and there's no lights, probably power supply.

You could try starting the power supply up with out the motherboard to see if it is the power supply you can do this by shorting the one green wire and any one of the black wire's on the ATX motherboard power connector with abit of wire or a paper clip like in this picture

if it power up that means it is a motherboard problem or maybe the case switch.

Just remember the saying
" red to red , black to black , plug it in and stand well back "
sorry about that
DIABLO is quite correct by using his methord you are bypassing the mobo and power swicth.
It does sound like you will need a new power supply
you can get these for about £15

no, that's why I didn't get an e-machines becuz they use cheap power supply, the power supply is to weak to run the system, after like about 2 - 6 months of used, it will be broken, that's why i'm ending up getting an hp.....

They are cheap plus prone to surges during lighting and thunder storms. During a thunder/lightening storm, my power supply, and cable modem got smoked, even tho they were in surge protectors. now i only buy the good surge protectors, not the 99 cent ones. Just a way to prolong the life of your electronic devices.
