Hi all,

I have the following prob with WinOnCD V3.8pe OR WinOnCD V5 and Windows ME.

When I install WinOnCD the following happens :
After the reboot the contens of my CD drive is invisiable in the Windows Explorer !!

Ok I guess I must explain it better :-) :

I have a Matshita DVD drive and a Plextor 2410 CD writer.
The PC is a Compaq AMD 1400 with 384MB RAM.

I can install Steinberg Clean or Cloncd or any other Software.
When I insert a CD into my DVD drive after a few seconds is the contens of the CD visiable in the Windows Explorer.

So now I install WinOnCD – reboot the CD and after that I insert the same CD into my DVD drive and now I can’t see the contents of the CD when I open the Windows Explorer.

I restore the disk with Norton Ghost and after the reboot I can see again the contens – install WinOnCD – I can’t see the contens anymore.

Then I restore again with Norton Ghost my PC – install NERO : I can see the contens of my CD.

I tested also the behaviour with different CD’s (self burned and CD’s which I bought) – same result.

This is for me the proof that WinOnCD is the “bad guy”

I install the Service Pack 2 for WinOnCD V3.8pe – bad luck.

3 Weeks ago I send a mail to Roxio support but until now I havn’t receive any answer ! L
I also informed Compaq and they replaced the DVD drive and the motherboard – the problem is still there !!
That’s the reason I look for help in this forum.

Had anyone in the past the same Problem ? What can I do ? (cause I like WinOnCD more than NERO).

Thx for your help !!!

Cheers

When you installed WOCD, did you also install the CD Emulator as well? If you did, you can remove it by running the installation again & and untick this feature.

Then have you checked the ASPI layer? Go to this page http://www.cyrus.troy.btinternet.co.uk/downloads.htm to get ASPI Check for checking the ASPI & Force ASPI for updating it if it's not properly installed.

Hi,

yesterday evening I checked the Aspi layers :

WNASPI32.DLL 4.60 (1021) 09/10/99
WNASPI.DLL 4.60 (1021) 09/10/99
APIX.VXD 4.60 (1021) 09/10/99
ASPIENUM.VXD 4.60 (1021) 09/10/99

Aspichk display the message that the aspi layers a properly installed.

I checked it before the installation of WOC and also after that : they were the same.

Thx

Uninstall all other burning softwares. Reboot. Install WOC. Reboot. WOC tends to have compatibility prob with other softwares..that why I don't use it anymore -=)

Hi,

I have done the following :

restore ME with my recovery CD and than install WOC without any other Software.

The result : I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM !!!!!!

I try to re-install the driver for my DVD drive - ME says that the best driver is installed.

Today I'll try the following :

I'll take out the DVD drive - reboot - install the DVD drive and then -normally- ME will install the driver. Maybe this will help !!

THX

cheers
