I've manged to back up my original THING DVD to CDRW (see other post) ... and it plays fine but very very occasionally the FMV st-st-stutters ;)

I burned it a 4X as that was the default in nero ... when I realised this was a problem I tried to burn again but at a reduced speed ...

BUT 4x is the only speed that it offers me ... i can't select 1x or 2x which is what I was hoping for ...

Am i being daft, or is this just a retriction due to the drive I have?

CD-RW is load time is going to be slower than a DVD. The restriction on slow burning speed is based on program you are using and the drive and media. One of the machine I have at work has an HP burner and slowest it can do is 4x, using Easy CD Creator. But if another burner with the same program can do 2x or 1x. It just depends on drive, software, media.

Thats what I was thinking, i'll just have to put up with it for now, at least until i get back to the uk ... (aug 2003) .. by then the dvd burners should be nice and cheap as well ;)
