Many Gamecubers are asking this same question..My friends know that I go the whole PS2 modchip thing going on, but most of them own gamecubes. I wanted to know if there will ever be a possible release of a Gamecube mod-chip? Hey, if there is, Nintendos sales will soar on Gamecube purchases :) I know when the XBOX modchip was released it made me want to buy an XBOX.....

I thought Lik Sang sold (as in past tense -- before the lawsuit) modded GCs. They could play games from any region. As for backups, nobody apparently has been able to create a working disc.

and the gamecube...I think its security is more practical, although less cryptographically sound. The little I know about it indicates that the gamecube uses less crypto and more hardware obscurity to make it more difficult to hack. This is, in my opinion, a superior approach for consoles because the goal is not to create a floating castle with spires and gilded doors, but just a dirt berm high enough to make any illegal operation non-profitable. http://www.icrontic.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=113&page=1

almostfamous88, no reason to insult people, although I would agree that there has been enough posts on this already...
