There's gotta be a way to turn off auto-insert notification in Win2K. This crap about holding SHIFT every time you insert a CD in the drive just isn't working for me. Anyone know how I can axx the settings for the CD-ROM drives?
i.e. auto-insert, DMA, etc.

never noticed the bit about dma
In Control Panel, click the System icon and click the Hardware tab.
Open Device Manager.
Select IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
Right-click the Primary IDE Channel icon and select Properties.
Click the Advanced Settings tab, and select the DMA check-box
Click OK.
