hey, hows everyone doin. I have a v7 ps2 modded with the apple no swap. I'm having some strange problems with thawk 4, timesplitters 2 and max payne. In tony hawk 4 I can play games and other various modes fine. The weird thing happens when i go to options: and then try to watch the shaun murray demo. The Ps2 then seems to restart and goes to the redscreen. This is happens with the original AND backup. I'm having a similar problem with TS 2. I can play games and the story mode fine. When I try to go to network setting in multiplayer mode the same thing happens like in TH4. the ps2 shuts off and goes to redsreen.
In Max Payne the game wont even boot. (orig or backup) goes to rockstar screen and then goes to redscreen. Somebody said my laser could be crapping out but I dont think so, its a brand new ps2 and I use verbatim dvd-rs. Somebody also said this could be some kind of protection. out of my 40 games, these are the only games that give me weird problems. Timesplitters 2 and TH4 are not a big deal cuz i can still play the game, but Max payne is being a pain. LOL Does somebody know whats up????

That's a mystery to me, since originals you say are having the same problems.

That is very strange that it is happening with your origional of Tony Hawk 4? If you're playing the Kalisto rip, then it said in the .NFO, not to try and play the Shaun Murray demo. Something along the lines..."if you do, you will regret it" or something like that. LoL
But this is very strange that the same thing is happening with the origional.

Sorry, but i don't know your issues with the other games cause i haven't tried them. =)
