View Full Version : How do I burn CDs quicker? There is some trick to do it faster, but I can't remember! [; ; win2KPro]

I think the trick has something to do with DMA or something. I can't seem to remember.

It is taking me about 15 minutes to write to a CD at 12x. I used to be able to do this in about 7 minutes.

If anyone knows how to fix this on 2000 Professional, please let me know!

To enable DMA in Win2K

Right click on the My Computer icon
Select 'Manage'
Click on Device Manager
Expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller
Right-click on Primary IDE Channel
Click on Properties
Click on the Advanced Settings tab
In the Transfer Mode section 'select DMA if available '
Do this for all devices on the Primary and Secondary Controllers
