i had a TNT 2 graphics card and substituted it for an ATI RADEON 9000. i installed the drivers and the PC hangs on the booting screen. and now when i tried to uninstall the drivers it keeps saying error and won't uninstall them. it might be cuz i installed a newer version of them that i got online from ATI?:furious: i'm running Windows Me just in case some1 had this problem before.

Use the following method for installing the video card driver.

Boot into safe mode.

First go to device manager, remove your old video card driver, and monitor driver, switching to a standard VGA driver.

Reboot and let Windows install your plug and play monitor driver.

Then back in device manager, expand the + beside display adapters

click on the driver listed, go to properties (bottom left), find the driver tab, click update driver, select specify the location of the driver, click on display a list of drivers in a specific location, click next, click have disk, and point Windows to the new drivers for your card and let it update.

Reboot and see how it is.

i tried that and no results. i have my old gpu at the moment cuz the radeon 9000 works 2 times after i install it and then keeps crashing at boot up. (then works just in safe mode)
i can't uninstall the ATI display driver either. i think i'll just overwrite Windows Me with Windows XP PRO maybe that'll work
