a colleague has just formatted his computer and put windows 98 first edition back on. the problem is that now he only has 16 colours. i've had this problem numerous times myself and as i don't know what type of video card is installed i can't just install the driver for it (i also don't have a driver disk that came with it).
can someone tell me how to fix this please, last time i just went through all the different drivers but that didn't really help either.

you need to find out what the graphics card is, open up the pc & see if it tell you what graphics card it is on the side or on the back of the card.

Have you tryed the nvidia drivers?

i've not had a chance to try anything yet as its a work computer at a different office. i'm trying to get as much info before i go over to have a look at it.

like Jono2003 u just need to install drivers.
