Just put a stealth 4 in my 5501 PSX and it loads backups np but for some reason it takes my originals to the audio screen.

I checked each connection and everything looks good. Used all points other than 2.

Any ideas?

I have no idea. I have seen some diagram pics showing it being use and some that doesnt. I think its for multimode purposes. But when I connected it to my bro in laws PSX(same model) the laser and motor acted like they was possessed.

could be a faulty chip.take the chip out and reinstall.

I hate to have to do that. I mean I am risking damageing it when I do that. I wouldnt call myself a pro with a iron yet but I don't get solder all over the board either. Also I have no desolder wick which I need to get. Maybe I will reheat a couple places on the chip because some connections on the chip itself doesnt look good.

Does anyone know which wires are used for originals(if any)?

may just be a dry solder joint, try unchipping & re chipping as suggested above
