He went out and got action replay last week and whenever he trys to do the swap trick without a mod using hte knife method instead of the ar showing the too many codes error msg the game that he is using for the large TOC. Which in this case is GTA3 PAL original, it just boots GTA instead of displaying the error at which point you would normally to the swap trick for the dvdr that you want to play. Anyone else had this problem?? is it just to do with new version of action replay?? His ps2 30003-R just like mine which ive had since last xmas??? PLease help me out so i can help him as he's clearly gutted! Cheers lads

He followed the boot method wrong, he needs to enable the codes first.

sorry i might not have explained myself properly as i though it would have been self explanatory. The codes he used and all of them were selected were the Dave Mirra BMX 2 ones. This is exactly how i boot all dvdrs with no probs ever. I just thought as it was a new version of action replay. Please help me guys and gals!

dave mirra method don't work on that version ARV2, you have to select any game codes and uncheck or check an unchecked code box, then press start and then start without codes.you now get a box which says updating codes list and this stops disc from spinning for 7-8 seconds which is enough time to swap !

i still dont understand, how am i sposed to do it that way?? I dont have any modchip at all installed this is just using the knife swap. Is it still ok to do it that way??

When you,ve checked /unchecked ONE of the selected codes.Press START,then select with codes.Quickly swap Original PS2 DVD with the DVD-R,using the knife trick (as mentioned you,ve got 7-10 secs to do this-its easy I do it all the time)

The DVD-R will then boot.Better still get the SWAP MAGIC disk,avoiding the double swap and the 7-10 secs limitation.

he doesn' t have a mod.

with the swap magic discs, you at least need a no solder mod.
the swap magic discs do not boot on their own.

i use swap magic disks and they do work without a chip. The dvd disc is great, no more messing with double swap ;)

eve
