I have just borrowed some games, Gauntlet, Dead to Rights + on 'General Purpose R 4.7 DVD' disks. They work fine on my mates but on mine no matter how many times I reset it they don't load. (our X Box's are chipped with same chip by same guy)

Is there any reason they are doing this?

Mabey you got the beta chip and your mate has a final chip(Enigmah)! They looks the same though. Dead to Right needes bata patching...

i had 2 x-box's bought at the same time, fitted with the same chip but one read's cdrw's much better than the other .
it could be a bit of pot luck on how good ur laser is !

Do you have the same DVD drive? There are Thompson, Phillips and Samsungs (in new ones)

The laser pot adjustments maybe a little different on each machine. Just reburn on to better a media that yours like

i heard that the thompson drive is a lot pickery than the phillips drive,
u might want to compare the two

Same here mate, any CDRW, any DVD-R/RW, never had problems with any brand, not 1 single CDR will read though.

Cheers for the help guys. We got our X-Box's nat the same time and we got ours chipped at the same time with the same chip by the same guy :)
