I just purchased a Memorex dvd+r drive with a AverDVD EZmaker capture card ($50. and works great). Someone told me that +R discs will not work in all dvd players, is this true ?

Yes, but then neither will DVD-R's.

Speaking of this,PC Magazine had a little article on the compatibility.Pioneer paid a firm called intellikey to do the study.Pioneers findings were +R and -R,both 78%. Intellikey states 77% for -R,and 90% +R. The RW media was also in favor of the + drives. The main thing is to have a fairly recent player.My Pioneer plays the + media a great deal better! I have both formats,with 2 drives.The big thing -R has going for it is the media is quite a bit cheaper,at least for now!
