I have phillips drive and it does not read dvd-rw at all and with some games,loading extremely slow like, toe jam,superman and quantum redshift all on dvdr, using prime disc and samsung! wich drive is better?
also anybody else with dvd-rw problem?

I tried using the DVD-RW that came with my Pioneer A03 and it wouldn't boot. I then tried using a really cheap junk GQ brand DVD-R that always freezes-up in my PS2 and they work great in my X-Box.

arent all philips dvd-writers dvd+r+rw ?

if so, then you wont be able to use any dvd-r/dvd-rw media as i understand it, just dvd+r/dvd+rw media only.
then again, i could be, and most probably am, totally wrong :D. but this is what my mate told me.

yes, same here, the dvd-rw w/pionneer burner did not boot, so i will try a cheap brand , thank you
ps: by the way wired reality, I was talking about phillips dvd drive inside the xbox system, but t.y.for reply.

Does the Thompson work where is philips doesn't?

My phillips drive takes forever and sometimes cant boot up princos. I think i need better media. I thought the phillips drive was supposed to be better than the thompson one?
