Can anyone recommend a CD-Rom that will allow me to burn on the fly at x24 with my Liteon 24102B? I know the Liteon 163 will do it with data and audio CDs, but the horrible, grating tinny noises it makes really put me off. (my mate has one) I've seen a Sony x52 and a Mitsumi x54. I know that these are also compatable with Clone CD, but does anyone know if they'll do the bizz with data and audio at x24 burning?

I use 2 LiteOn 24X's, a LiteOn Ltd-163 as well. But the best CD-Rom drive I have ever used is the "Sony CDU-5211", IMO it's much better than the LiteOn DVD as a reader for data. I have both installed in my system and I am more than happy with both, the LiteOn for DAE/Audio, the Sony for Data.
BTW the Sony is better than theLiteOn for OTF data recording, and almost as good for OTF audio. (Both with Clone CD)
Hope this helps M8. :)
