I was giving (about a month ago) a 30001R PS2 along with about 30 games. This is an unmodded PS2 with all original games. All games play perfectly fine. So I go out and buy "Vice City" and bring it home. Can't hardly wait, I go straight to the PS2 and insert the disc and to my dissappointment......I get the "disc error" message. I tried several different times and I still got the same thing. I grab me a can of compressed air and I blow the inside out pretty well, and then I try the game again. Well I still got the error message. So I take the game back and trade it for another one. I get back home, try it again, and again, I get the "disc error" message. Now the other 30 games play perfectly fine. Why not this game. Now here is the big kicker. It plays fine in my neighbors V4 PS2.
Any ideas to what I can try and do?

are most of your games CD based? your ps2 might just read CDs only and not dvd due to your knacked laser...
get it replaced if it is still under warranty

Most of the other games are DVD based (MGS2, GTA3, Onimusha 1 and 2, etc) And they all play fine. Just this one I am having trouble with. Not for sure if it is still under warrenty since it was given to me. Thanks for the input though.

Sounds like laser trouble, just because some games work don't mean you laser could be going. A friend of mine bought two Original Red Faction2, and they didn't work, buy all other games do.
