I searched the forums for the boot method with a v5 PS2 using the Magic 2.0 Swap Disk and the non-solder mod. I just got my disk today and can't wait to get home to try it. I bought some DVDR backups last week and I tried booting them with the non-solder and my GS1.9 and they didn't work. I'm assuming that to boot up my DVDR games I put in the magic 2.0 DVD swap disk and when it says insert the game now... I press and hold eject... the tray comes out (light went from green to orange) I make the quick swap with the DVDR backup and then I should be ready to go... is this true... is there a step by step boot method for my setup somewhere?

they prolly didnt work because you need an original dvd with a larger TOC than the back ups for the game to boot. you have to do a double swap to boot dvd-rs with the r-mod. (at least you didnt mention doing that)

anyway - with the swap magic, you pop in swap magic, let it boot, when it tells you to switch, switch, and bingo - game will boot.

I think they didnt work because of the GS1.9... I was using a DVD with a larger TOC.. so I was told that... I used GT3 A-Spec.. with a TOC size of ~3.5GB and I was trying to boot Madden 2K3 and NBA Live 2K3....

Do I have to press and hold the reset for the swap? Press any buttons after the swap?

yes - use the r-mod as normal :) press and hold till tray opens, swap, and it will auto close.

i aint sure on the TOC of your original problem. it could also be your ps2 might not like the media they are on

Very true.. that would suck given that they are on Princo White top media... which saves me allot of money compared to the verbatim... do you know of cheap media that I could try? The guy I bought the Backups from chagres $4 for the Princos and $8.50 for the verbatim's
