what are .bin and .img and .tar.gz files and how do i extract them?

khizman Nov 13, 2002, 04:35 PM what are .bin and .img and .tar.gz files and how do i extract them? kyle5077 Nov 13, 2002, 04:40 PM .BIN is a disc image for burining with CDRWIN .IMG is also a cd inage,m i thing it is the Nero format .TAR are like .zip files (archives) use WinRAR to extract them .GZ is also a compressed file witch im pritty sure WinRAR can do. God that would have to eather b one small a$$ image or u will spend more on floppys then just buying a burner :D If u would like to extract the files from it tho u can use winISO or ISObuster. HTH ElaineM Nov 14, 2002, 03:08 AM What kyle is so ineloquently trying to say is, if the size of the files are quite large, considering that only 1.44 mb will fit on a floppy, it might be rather impossible (or extremely time consuming, not to mention using many disks) to extract them.
