Tryna upgrade the memory in a m8's PC. It's a Packard Bell, lol n has 64MB PC133 stick in it already.

Bought a 256MB PC133 stick & slotted it in. Nothing.

The PC doesn't recognise this new stick. Tried swapping the 64 & the 256 around. Tried the 256 on it's own & just getting 'No Signal' message on screen. When both are installed, only the 64MB is recognised.

There are no beeps, the memory is seated properly. Read manual for motherboard, (Houston) Says should automatically detect the extra memory with no changing of jumper settings & accepts a max of 2x256MB, 133 memory.

Any ideas???

Thanks

The cheap generic high density PC133 can't be recognized by most mobo's. Make sure you buy low density RAM for better compatibility.
