I'm looking to buy a new DVD R pretty soon and I was hoping you guys could give me your opinions. Specifically, I'm looking at the following:

Hewlett Packard DVD200I

Pioneer DVR-105 DVD-R/RW 4x DVD recorder
Pioneer DVR-A05
(Anybody know the difference in these two???)

Phillips DVD RW 228

Please feel free to post your opinions and experiences, just try to say more than "buy the ..."!

Thanks a million everybody!

Oh, and if it makes a difference, I'm in the US.

I believe the Pioneer A05 is the retail version of the Pioneer 105 but essentialy its the same drive. After doing a lot of searching I personally have just ordered a Sony DRU 500A, its been getting excellent reviews. It is a dual writer and will write +R and -R media at 4X so its very flexable. The 4X +R media is a bit expensive at the moment but hopefully will come down. Its about 10% more than the 105 but I think its worth the extra. As for performance I haven't received it yet but when I do, I will post with my opinions. The 105 is also a good drive if you just want to write -R media, going on what people have said, though haven't used one myself
