I recently had to buy a used hard drive to replace my previous one. Since hooking up this hard drive , my computer is extremely loud. Can this have something to do with the hard drive? Most of the noise seems to be the fans which are louder than they normally are. But there seems to be noise coming from the hard drive , other than the usually buzz from activity. Thanks.

The noise is probably from the fan on your new HD. Might be louder then your older one, so you have noticed a difference.
