hi,

since this morning every time i turn on my PC i get a screen that gives me the choice of booting up from:

Normal
Logged
Safemode
Step By Step

ive tried normal and safe mode about 20 times but it keeps goiing to the blue screen that says "windows protection error, you need to restart your computer, system halted"
but when i restart it does the same thing allover again.

ive looked at the MS website that tells you what to do but i still cant get it to boot up.

Please help, im on a Dreamcast typing this

Many Thanks:)

This is usually either a hardware or driver problem. Have you installed or de-installed anything recently ?

If it's driver related, it should let you boot in safe mode. If it does, try deleting all devices such as video, monitor etc in device manager, re-boot and let windows re-install everything.

For a hardware check, you could take off the back and make sure everything is seated OK, all cables are firmly in place etc.

hi, thanks for the reply:)

Ive checked all the wires inside and they seem to be all connected.
i havnt installed or uninstalled anything recently.
Everything was working normal yesterday,

also it wont let me boot in safe mode or any other mode,

do you think there could be a problem with the cpu?:(

Many Thanks

I've got a similar problem to yours at the moment. I'm also confused why this is happening as I too haven't installed any new hardware or even opened my PC.

If you ever get around to getting it sorted, please let me know. I'll do the same if I find anything.

Thanks!
