Hey all, got a crazy question.. What would happen if you burn DVD-R/RW media in a cd-rw drive? Is the laser of a cd-rw strong enough to burn? Can someone explain the technical side? Thanks.

I think you answered your own question.. one is a DVD-R while the other is a CD-R.. its like trying to use DVD-Audio in a CD player, they are to completly different things, and both the players are completly different from the laser to the decoding.

A DVD-R is 4.7 GB while CD-R is 700MB basically a DVD is exactly the same thing as a CD-R only the pits on the disc are about 7 times smaller and closer together, which requires a totally different laser.
