Hi all !!

I have a PS2 with Messiah.
Playing normal DVD movies (so no copy but original versions)won't work !

I wonder whats the exact procedure to play them ...
I did manage to play a DVD movie once but that is along time ago..

Playing official and copied games goes well.

Can anyone give me some help ??

Thx in advance

For Messiah

Original games (PS1 and PS2 CD & DVD)
• Load as normal

PS2 backups (CD & DVD)
• Insert game and close tray
• Press reset

PS1 Backups
• Insert game and close tray
• Press reset twice

DVD Films
• Insert game and close tray
• Press reset twice

hope this helps m8

What do u mean by "press reset twice" ?
is that pressing twice quick after another or just press once, wait awhile and then press second time ??

thx in advance..!

Can't you use the browser screen also with messiah? After it recongize that it's a movie DVD-R or original and launch from there?

The browser screen shows up when resetting but then it goes to a screen for my memorycard which is in slot 1.
it doesn't load the dvd..it keeps showing me that memorycard screen..

I got my PS2 back on thursday which has been chipped with Messiah and I couldnt get any PSX games, original or backup to play.
You have to press reset twice quickly to boot PSX of any kind on mine and to play dvd movies I dont have to do anything but I would try pressing reset twice quickly also.

sorry for not replying sooner m8
but i have been very busy

anyway the guys here have it sorted for you ..
the double tap is quick ie (imagine tapping the reset button 3 times continuously)..........(now leave out the middle tap and your timing should be about right)....
its kinda hard to explain the timing bit in words, but hope this helps..:hdspin:

I understand the double tap reset issue but I want to use the DVD Region X disc beforehand, so I can watch other region movies and use a RGB scart lead.
Seeing as it wont boot the Region X disc with double reset, how would you go about using it. I could boot it with a normal single reset but then afterwards I wouldnt be able to play the movie as that would require double reset again, so I'd be back at square one. (I'm using Messiah chipped V5 PAL).

Just out of interest, why do you need Region X to use a RGB Scart cable, when I had my PS2 chipped the guy did something that removed the green screen problem and also the PS2 now forces any NTSC game or film into PAL, can this mod not be done on a V5.

Yes it can be and I should have done it then. However I didn't which is why I need this.
