I have just bought this dvd-r recorder and need some info on what discs I should buy. I have a number of different dvd players at home so need the discs to play on these. Also can I back up my ps2 games and vcd's with this machine?

no to the PS2 and VCD question. E performance DVDRs are cheap and work well

You can connect your PC to your E30 with the correct leads if you have AV Out on your graphics card, then you can record VCDS realtime but why would you would want to transfer VCD to DVD

Because my kids are lazy so and so's :) and would prefer not to have to change disc. I presume I can connect another dvd player and record in real time also.Another question I would like to know is can I put more than on movie on dvdr before closing therefore making it playable on another dvd player?

Yes you can put up to 6 hours of movies on 1 DVDr. When you press stop at the end of recording there will be a multimenu created when you record a second movie on the DVDr. So when you finalise the disc you will have the option to choose whatever movie you want. This menu will work on any DVD player you play back on.
