Hi,

ASUS 4816A and Lite-On 48125W are about the same price in my region. (LG8400B is also available).

Please may I have your advice as to which is better at cloning/backing up games CDs, music CDs, and which works better with which software such as CloneCD, Blindwrite, Daemon, Alcohol, Nero and the like. In short, which is more versatile in these areas?

Many thanks for your early response.

Rex.

For backing up games you really can't go past a Lite-On. For software support check the programs homepage for a list of supported writers, although I can tell you that the lite-on is supported by CloneCD, BlindWrite, DTools, Alcohol, Nero, along with just about everything else.

I got a feeling that the Asus might be better at protected audio though.

Anyway, I'm moving this to CoOp.
