hi,
i have a problem that has got me baffled beyond belief!!
yesterday i recieved my external usb broadband modem and i set it up fine and had it running perfect.
when i switch on my pc and win98se has finished loading i log off and log on under my name so when i connect to the net the pc knows my password already!
once i have logged back on and i try to connect to the net it tries to verify my username and password then comes up that it cannot connect to the server and when i try to connect again it says no dial tone and continiues to come up no dial tone until i unplug the modem from the usb and plug it back in then it connects straight away!
now if i load win98se and dont log off and try to connect by typing my password in it lets me connect without having to unplug the modem!

First of all, go to Internet Options in Control Panel, Connections, and tick never dial aconnection, the go to Set up, and configure your LAN, or LAN settings, and tick Automaticaly detect settings.
