OmegaX Nov 23, 2002, 11:36 PM I was playing Morrowind and after playing for about half hour I quit and checked to see the cpu and mobo temp. CPU was at 50 degrees and mobo was at 41. However they started dropping as soon as I quit. Normal temp when I'm just using Windows to surf etc is about 37 degrees. Are these temps ok and is it normal for it to go to 50 when playing intensive games like Morrowind? I have a 2.4 Intel P4 chip and using the heatsink fan that was supplied with it (retail). I have a gfiii ti200 as the video card.
thisiscoo Nov 23, 2002, 11:47 PM what software are you using to find the temp???
DIABLO Nov 24, 2002, 05:20 AM The cpu temp is a little high but won't cause any adverse affects but the mobo temp is a little high i would get a/better casefan.
Captain Nov 24, 2002, 06:43 AM I'd say 50 is fine, mine runs at 50 when idle (the room its in is really hot though) and has never gave me any problems. Depends on how much air flow there is round your PC too, if its stuck in a corner somewhere surrounded by cables etc then its bound to get hot.
Lee2003 Nov 24, 2002, 08:29 AM Because wen u play games, and other related apps/program that depend on your grraphics card, it will get warm, not much but the temp will go up. My cpu temp is 60 degrees idle, u wanna start worrying when it gets in the 80's, but i stuck 4 sytem cooler fans in my pc, it cooled down but just a bit more noise.

Smiffy280361 Nov 24, 2002, 01:26 PM Hi
Computer\sensor i'm assuming this only works from the integrated mobo sensors as per the BIOS utility.

MrMP Nov 24, 2002, 10:25 PM When you play a game your cpu is on 100% load for however long you are playing. 50 is a little high but well within the limits. My p4 is 33 normal/idle or 42 after gaming
monkeyman50 Dec 24, 2006, 04:58 PM Hey i have kind of a similar problem. usually when i play games, my computer just shutsdown out of nowhere. I cleaned out the dustbunnies from the inside, but it still does the same thing, i also updated my video card. Im using the "Speed Fan" software to monitor the temp of my computer. I just had a crash, and when i turned the computer back on, and turned the software on, my temp is staying at around 70 degrees Celcius. I can tell that this isn't good. What i don't know, is wheather this is a problem with my fans, or my video card. Can anyone help? thanks!
