It's going to be hard for anyone to say if it's true or not since you didn't bother to tell anyone what make\model harddrive you have!

Go to the manufacturer's website, look up the specifications for your harddrive and figure out on your own if 89 C exceeds the specs or not. (It probable does...)

The answer to what happens if the drive runs too hot for too long should be fairly obvious...the drive will eventually fail, sooner then expected.

Try using IBM drive fitness test i've found it pretty accurate you can get it from here (http://www.storage.ibm.com/hdd/support/download.htm) to get the real temp of your HD.

okay, it's a Sumsung SV0602H

anyways, i turn my whole system off last night and then today, i open the case and touch my hard-drive which is kind of cold, and cool.........

but then when i turn on my pc and open my hard-drive temp program, it said that my hard-drive is over the limit temp again, but this time, it went to 210 C, which is super hot!!!!!!!!!!!!

wtf??? does the software trick me!!!

I don't think it needs to be a IBM driver for the program to work.

I already try it, the disk boot and give me my drive model number but when i choose the temp. features...... it say that this is not an IBM drive.......

I think the software you’re using is giving you the wrong temp m8 cos if it really was running at 210c you’d be seeing smoke by now.

lol, no wonder it's a 30 days free trial, they probably try to trick me to waste my money on that..........
