I am two days from buying a V7 ps2 and i need to know;
1. On personal opinions, do i go Messiah, Messiah2, or Magic 3
2. Will DVD9's be coming out more often now than just xenosaga
3. Is there much $ difference between the 3 mod-chips
4. How can I prolong the life of the laser (my last ps2 died on me)

1.you cant use the messiah, messiah 2 is probably your best bet, as the magic 2 was meant to have problems, although the magic 3 may have fixed these the messiah is still a more trusted name..

3messiah will cost a bit more, but is more than likely worth it, it wont be a great difference though

4.use good quality cd-r and dvd-r and burn on very low speeds

i would go with the messiah2 also. its a more trusted chip. as for the the life of your laser do what nick said. stick with verbs or anything close to it and burn at 1x or 2x.

1. Go for the magic 3. ( I have it & its working great with my V7 )

4. Dont use cheap media. Stick with TDK / APPLE / VERBATIM / SONY.
And make sure they are burnt @ 1x for the BEST OUTCOME.

should i read the game at 1x or another slow speed cause my max is 32x, and then burn at 1x?
