Hi All,

Every time I try to load my backup of Splinter Cell, all I get is returned to the main EvoX menu screen. Does this game need default.xbe patching?

I've noticed my copy of Rocky does the same, and that's listed in the XBox beta patch list thread in this forum??

Cheers!

I think it does, mine does the same thing. I patched it with the beta patcher and its still`the same though.

Hmmm....i got my unit chipped ages ago...a few weeks after the enigma was released. the People i got it from swore blind it was the final release and not the beta. But i get problems too with some games. I got fiffa and timesplitters 2 to work fine...but Tony hawk 4 and Splinter cell dont seem to work. First i thought it was just a crap dvd, but i got 3 dvd backups of Hawk, and none worked!

Any ideas out there? Does a patch work??

file size is about 1 meg compressed

So, what do i need to do with this file? Just put in on the same dvd as Splinter cell?

Cheers,
Dan.

Im not really up on the new patches n' stuff for xbox...i heard that it ws possible to update the chip with downloadable software...is this true? Or will i have to put the extra patch on all of the dvds?

I found a patcher on this page, about half way down. Is this all i need to add to the dvd to get the game to work?

How do you mean, edit the default.xbe file? What do i have to do?
Do i need to copy the game to xbox HD then back onto my pc and mess around...or is it easy? Does simply patching it still work?

Dan.

You need to extract the contents of the game to your PC hard drive, once you done this owerwrite the default.xbe already there with the one penfolduk is sending to you, once overwritten look in the FAQ for my guide on burning disks with Prassi primo DVD, alternativly just FTP the files to the xbox HDD once you have replaced the default.xbe

why dont you just using a beta mod patcher? i have a very good one that tells you if it needs patching before hand. I will not send to everyone but will send to someone who can host it.
