paperboy2 Nov 27, 2002, 12:14 PM Thinking of buying a dvd that plays cd-g's and wanted to know which ones are
Multi region
RCE compatable
macrovision disabled
DVD-r compatable
In particular looking at AWF or Fujilink players since the conia player at emkaraoke seems to only come with a load of "freebies".
I am also open to other suggestions if you know of other models that play cd-gs
vinniedub Nov 27, 2002, 12:38 PM Have a look at the KAM DVD PRO 4000, I don't know if it has all the features you're after mate but I think it's £200 and plays DVD, VCD, CD+G, CD and mp3 and is advertised as having a 'fast response pick up'
no link
paperboy2 Nov 28, 2002, 09:02 AM thanks Vinnie I've tried to find out more about it but been unable to at the moment.
Most players I've seen can be found at cookies.co.uk but only been able to say for certain that rsq 505 is multi region as well as conia at emkaraoke. Both are quite expensive and also rsq is black and the only AV equipment I have in black is my wireless headphones so that puts me off also.
I was hoping that some users of these machines may be about so they could put me straight.
paperboy2 Nov 28, 2002, 09:05 AM just also found out the cavs 101g is multi-region but again it is black.

Vinnie did you say it was £200.00?
vinniedub Nov 28, 2002, 09:05 PM £ 199.95 from Images in Livingstone (near Edinburgh) their website has been 'under construction' for about 2 years lol but you can e-mail them at
sales@images2.co.uk
paperboy2 Nov 29, 2002, 04:34 AM Thanks Vinnie found www.kam.co.uk but still could not find about region free or not.
Clubmix98 that's what I like to hear!!!!I presume it is the AWF that is advertised all over the place-there dose not seem to be a model number. That sounds the one for me,not great lokking but seems to be well respected by users!!
For people searching the forum for infomation I'll just sumerize what I found-so correct me if I'm wrong.
ALL BELOW PLAY CD-G NOT JUST VCD
AWF......multi region RCE? DVD-R
CAVS 101G multi region RCE? DVD-R?
RSQ 505 multi region RCE DVD-R
CONIA multi region RCE? DVD-R?
KAM pro4000 ????
FUJILINK ALL multi region RCE? DVD-R? (production/reliability problems)
Strange but true if you look at the supliers on the fujilink site one of those listed says it has stopped selling fujilink due to reliability problems......great PR.
