I have a dvd writer. Can someone please tell me how to use nero?
all i want is to copy my dvd backups to dvd...but nero seems to come up with errors. Its fine for cd-r, but when it starts the dvd process, it always has errors on the first few %. I am using branded dvd media.

Any ideas??

are you using fat32? as this wont allow you to create an image, due to the limit of file sizes over 4gb.

aahh, didn't know about that. But i thought there were loads of files on a dvd...a no one single file was larger than 4gb??

you need to NTFS the drive and try recordnow max. for some reason some disks have trouble copying on one or the other.

what do you mean by NTFS? Is that patching the dvd drive?
mmm....dont suppose you know where i might "find" this recordnow max?

Ive been hearing though that alot of people r having trouble booting some games, due to having the beta chip in their machines. I hear, for splinter cell and others, you just need to add a small patch to the dvd to make the game boot normally. I found this on my travels....is this the patch they mean?

just use Primo Prassi 2....it splits the DVD image so it can fit on FAT32....

I have most of the cd-copying software...inc prassi.
I need to add an and replace a .XBE file. So for this, i need to get access to the xbox game files...but i carnt seem to even access the backup xbox games on my pc dvd drive. Do i still need to sort this Fat 32 problem out?
Ive got record now max 4, which seems to work fine for copying my ps2 dvd backups.

Any ideas, what exaclty do i need to do??

I have the same problem, I can back up my psx2 dvd's no probs but cant back up my xbox games. What do we have to do back up xbox games? Checked the site but cant seem to see anything regarding this.
Can you back up origanal games straight to blank dvdr?? OR
Can you back up copies straight to dvdr?

Im using a pioneer dvd writer with nero 5.5.9.1 with XP.

just a quick one because I need to go to bed (6.15am)..
You can copy 1-1 xbox BACKUPS and PS2 originals/backups.
You can NOT copy 1-1 xbox originals. To copy those, you need to extract them on your xbox hard drive and then ftp to your pc harddrive and then burn on dvdr.

danwade, if u have primo, use it to do a disc to disc copy!, record now max is also well upto the job. why do u _need_to "add an and replace a .XBE file"?...have u got a beta chip?...also, read this thread:

and u will need an ntfs hdd if u ever want to make an image bigger than 4gig
