View Full Version : I NEED Help hooking up to xbconnect.com with my smc barricade router

just what the title says

i have an smc barricade router and and ethernet cable

when i plug the ethernet cable into the router, the light on the router will not light up meaning the ethernet cable is not connected but it really is

i checked xbconnect.com and they said i have to do something but im an idiot

so i need someone to help me step by step hooking up my xbox to my smc barricade router

Well I guess it is you then. You're not the man. Make sure you aren't using a crossover cable to connect the box to the hub. PS don't start numerous threads on the same topic.

springfield, i dont need help with my connection, i need help modifying my router so it allows me to connect to xbconnect.com

I thought you said the light on the router doesn't light up. Sounds like there is somthing wrong with the connection to me. If you don't get a green light then it isn't working. Once it is working you don't need to set anything up on your router unless you want to host games. Then you have to forward a port to your PC. I would check my setup for the exact number but you can just get on thier website. Look in the router documentation on how to do that.

How do i forward a port to my pc
i am not using a crossover cable

i am using the cable that came with the xbox

The xbox doesn't come with a network cable. If you bought a microsoft "system link cable" then yes you are using a crossover cable, because thats what that is. You'll have to look in the routers documentation to findout how to forward ports.

An network cable, just a normal old network cable that you can buy any where. You really need to do some reading because I'm sick of spoon feeding you and no one else seems willing either.
