hi i brought a x box and need to know if i can get it modded ... also how much and who can do it for me

also if i get it modded will it play back dvd-r and will it play divX

yes, you can get it modded.

but i was told about xboxs after augest or some thing that they cant be chipped ... cos microsoft have done something to them

i've been searching for somebody to configure my xbox too, I finally found a shop, but they were charging $150 and it was for the evolution chip, which I believe requires soldering.
Unless there is something both solderless/better, i'll get the Xodus (Matrix) mod chip.

hey....check out www.xbox-scene.com for all the latest info. there you will find banners of companys that offer mod instalation. plus they have charts that explain the differences in mods and then you can make up your mind which chip is best for you.
you won't beleive the things you can do with your xbox. enjoy!

They have one wire chips at xbox-scene. Or you could try the xbox-scene forums since thats the best site for xbox stuff.

yup, it was at the xbox-scene site where i ordered the matrox aka exodus chip....After I filled out my order, i learned about the X-ecuter2...Oops!

i brought x-ecuter 1 is that any good it only needs one wire to soilder ... do i need to flash or anything

Just get someone to install the chip for you. anyone with an idea of soldering can do it. Thats all you need to do.
Its not just 1 wire by the way. ts one wire and about 9 other points too. I've got an x-ecutor and it works fine. I need to add a switch tho so I can play X-Box Live, so you may want to do the same

where do i get the switch from

you can pick up the switch at any electronic parts store it has to be a toggle spst(single pole single throw)
