View Full Version : How do I Format disk with ntfs installed on it [Packard Bell; ; win2KPro]

Can anyone tell me where i can find step by step instructions, on how to format my hard drive to normal DOS format as to install Win98se.

At the moment it has Win2000 which uses ntfs format

goto www.bootdisk.com and download the xp singal install disc
and put it on floppy
then after that make shore it write proted just in case
put in folppy reboot comp when it porses make note of drive letters
then hit the reurn or enter key whe you get the message good look
with a: then fdik follow the instuctions to remove non dos partions
when you have don that creat primary dos partion reboot then format c:
this can be don without any cd at all then after you have formated put
the same folppy back in and your win 98 disc press reset on comp
flppy will go throuh same proseager but insted of following xp install
just typ your drive letter which will eather be r: or s: then typ setup thats it

Cant get the disk to boot comes up with the message: this disc can not boot it was formatted without the /s (system) option - any ideas

just get a normal 9x bootdisk www.bootdisk.com

boot up run fdisk
delete all partitions
recreate partitions
format
run setup
